The Disney Dream initially set sail in 2010 but Disney Cruise Line has already made the decisions to change things up. These changes include:
- Star Wars: Millenium Falcon replication in the Oceaneers Club
- Vanellope’s Sweets and Treats
- Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique
- Satellite Falls
The space that I would like to focus on in this post is Vanellope’s Sweets and Treats because this is a new concept for Disney Cruise Line. The new sweet shop takes over the place where the arcade used to be on deck 11.
The shop includes items like fudge, rice krispy treats, cupcakes, macaroons, and others. In addition to these special treats, the sweet shop also offers an assortment of gelato, ice cream, and specialty sundaes.
Now that your taste buds are watering,
Here is a picture of the Ice Cream/Gelato Menu:
Yes that’s right, there are prices next to each of those options. Disney Cruise Line is actually charging extra to offer these sweets!
Now anyone who has looked into booking a Disney Cruise, you know that they are very expensive (I believe the experience is worth the price) but I strongly disagree with them charging for these special treats!
Disney Cruise Line already offers complimentary soft serve ice cream every day. And regular ice cream and gelato could usually be found in Cabanas during lunch and dinner. So why charge extra? It definitley makes my blood boil because they already offer half these things for no additional cost!
My question is: Will they do away with the free soft serve? Will they start charging extra for the already free desserts that they offer in places like Cove Cafe? What’s next for Disney Cruise Line?
