Frozen Fever is Coming to Broadway!

As if the East Coast isn’t cold enough, the temperatures are about to drop even more because Disney’s Frozen is coming to Broadway in 2018! That is right, Frozen Fever is still in full effect and it’s moving up the East Coast! The only question is: What took so long?! I remember the first time I saw Frozen; it was about a month after it came out in theaters and when I walked out of the theater, my first thought was that this movie was made for Broadway.

The world is no stranger to the Frozen’s popularity and you can read all about what is behind Frozen’s popularity here!

Disney contracts a few different Broadway theaters and the only show that has stayed on consistently is The Lion King. The reason for that is most likely the amazing music that came from Elton John for that movie. Other Disney Broadway shows that have gotten the boot are Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Tarzan, Mary Poppins and Newsies. The latest Disney Broadway show that is currently playing is Aladdin.

So the next question is will Frozen replace The Lion King or Aladdin or will it be in addition to these two musicals? I personally hope that it will be in addition to these current shows.

New York City is about to be filled with Little Anna and Elsa’s waiting to see their favorite Princesses on Broadway, I just hope that the future audience can hold off on the urge to belt out their favorite Frozen Songs during the show!

Oh and I am personally hoping that Idina Menzel and Kristen Bell will play their characters on broadway! How cool would that be?!
